From evolution to revolution-and beyond!
A university student and his reputation as an innovator and technology enthusiast. These are the ingredients that led to the founding of RAM Elettronica S.p.A. in Cognento, a small town in the province of Modena.
Even today, Research and Innovation are the cornerstones of our company.
In the 1980s, RAM Elettronica S.p.A. entered the textile industry with the registration of its first patent for electronic tensioners. It was during this decade that our company entered the world of cutting technologies, ranging from lasers to blades.
With its move into the contour cutting industry, particularly polyurethane cutting, RAM charts its future course and paves its path for years to come. In fact, the first horizontal reciprocating blade shaping machine and the first automatic abrasive wire cutting machine date from this period.
The year 1999 was a turning point: RAM moved its headquarters to San Cesario sul Panaro (MO). It is now time to invest in more technologically advanced machinery and become independent from outside suppliers. From the 1990s onward, in fact, both prototypes and all production are made in-house.
With the arrival of the new millennium, RAM is celebrating a new beginning: on the one hand, with the inauguration of our permanent showroom, where our customers have the opportunity to carry out cutting trials directly on our machines; on the other, with the introduction of further technological innovations. Among them, we cannot fail to mention the RotaDobe system, aimed at optimizing the production cycle and time.
Research and innovation also enabled us to launch our first automatic continuous blade cutting machines, both horizontal and vertical.

Constant research and technological development have also contributed to constant product enrichment and renewal. Our renowned SF series, whose acronym stands for Super Fast shapers, dates back to the beginning of this decade.
Our desire to continuously renew our company and our product offerings has led us to a rapid revolution. The result? The creation of our innovative blade-guiding arm and the new EV series, two further steps dictated by our vocation to invent the future of technology.
This revolution is not limited to products, but also embraces and includes our software. In fact, around the middle of the decade, we developed our new v7 software package.
Our drive toward constant development is not only about our cutting machines, but also about our team. In fact, the synergy between our senior and junior members is the main strength of the current RAM. It is only through this collaboration that we are able to harness both our experience and the energy and expertise of our newest resources. In this way, we create ever-increasing value, which is in line with the pillars of our corporate identity: Passion and Commitment, Customer Focus, Research and Innovation, and a new breath of Widespread Creativity.
